North Portal Estates, a small, affluent residential neighborhood, resides in the northernmost corner of the District of Columbia. Bounded by North Portal Drive to the south, East Beach Drive to the west and northwest, and Rock Creek Park to the northeast, North Portal Estates is entirely suburban. Set out of the way of any major thoroughfare, the neighborhood is quiet and bucolic with its winding streets, single family homes on large lots, and ample open space.
